The Vandals were on the receiving end of some questionable calls on Saturday.

The Vandals were down one goal, 3-2 with 15 seconds left in the game. An Eastern Washington player iced the puck, but the refs waived it off as to make a game changing call. Another Eastern player picked it up and scored an empty netter as our goalie was pulled for an extra skater. Had the right call been made, the Vandals would have had a face-off in the Eastern zone with 10 seconds left, where Eastern would not have been able to change (via new icing rule).

Despite the expected poor calling at Eastern the Vandals finished the season strong.

It was a great year overall. Thank you for all the fans who supported us. See you next year!

The trip to Montana State University this past weekend was a success as the Vandals come home with two victories.

Despite having a short bench, the Vandals won 4-2 and 5-2 on Friday and Saturday night.

The Vandals have their final games of the season in Spokane on the 13th and 14th of February. BYU and Gonzaga are their opponents.

The Vandals despite a huge amount of shots and chances were only able to score 5 goals against Portland State University. And this was not enough as the Vandals let in a total of 7 goals.

Odd man rushes and defensive breakdowns provided opportunity for PSU and they took advantage.

The Vandals play this upcoming weekend, the 23rd and 24th, against Washington State University.

The Vandals were victorious in both games against the University of Washington Huskies this past weekend. The scores were 10 - 4 and 6 - 4 in favor of the Vandals.

Nick Arnold got his skills back and was rewarded with a hat trick in the 10 - 4 win. Jack Pierce finished strong as well with the game winning goal in the 6 - 4 win. Overall it was a good weekend for the Vandals.

The Vandals finish off 2008 with a game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on the 12th of December.

The Vandals beat #3 ranked Utah State this past Friday, 5 - 1, controlling the game from the drop of the puck.

Danny Ward managed to start the Vandals off scoring less than 20 seconds into the game. From there the Vandals managed to maintain control of the game, gradually adding to their lead with the help of Nick Arnold, Brad Gorham, and Neil Walsky. Late in the third period, the Vandals killed off a huge 5 on 3 advantage helping to ensure the victory.

Utah State was the highest ranked team the Vandals have ever beaten in Vandal hockey history. Go Vandals!

The Vandals next games are against the University of Washington on December 5th and 6th.

The Vandals lost two games over the weekend to the University of Las Vegas. UNLV has a good stratagy in having 19 home games and 6 away games, as teams coming to Vegas may have a distraction or two.

The Vandals next game is against Utah State on November 7th.

The Vandals played the Eastern Washington University Eagles this past weekend, and they will most likely be the Vandals best competition all year. The first game was a great battle and a well played game by both teams. The referees made good calls and did not interfere with the game, unlike the second game. With less than 5 minutes to go the Eagles were up 3-2, but managed to pop one more, ending the game 4-2.

The second game was refereed by Lochton, a Spokane ref, who always manages to make huge, game changing calls against the Vandals. The game was 4-1 in favor of the Eagles when an Eagle player ran into our goalie, Teddy Florence. Teddy pushed the player off him, and Lochton called a Butt-End and kicked him out of the game. Lochton seem's whistle happy with Butt-End calls that do not actually take place.

The Vandals next game is @ University of Las Vegas on 10/24 and 10/25.

The Vandals played Portland State University this past weekend the 11th and 12th and walked away with two wins. The first game ended in a 10-5 win and the second a 9-6 win. In both games a few minor breakdowns and penalties enabled PSU to pop a few extra goals that should not have happened. Despite these breakdowns the Vandals managed to produce both at even strength and on the power play.

All three lines produced with some sick shots and passes from Niel Walski, Ryan McDonald, Ryan Frey, Danny Ward, Nick Arnold, Derek Knox and Brad Gorham among others. Ryan Moen layed out the hit of the weekend with a semi-submarine hit dropping PSU's offensive fast break. As a whole the Vandal defense played really well making some great heads up passes breaking out of the zone and they held the puck in at the blue line to continually tire the opposition.

Danny Ward threw down a little bit with Doogle in tow, though the full breakdown is up in the air. Battle scars ensued. Some Godfather's pizza and some money chinese food was devoured over the weekend despite the snickering of cooks. All in all, a good weekend.

The Vandals next game is @ Eastern Washington University on 10/17 and 10/18.

The Vandals played their first game over the weekend, a 7-2 victory over Loyola Marymount. Despite being in the penalty box for roughly the entire third period the Vandals managed to minimize the opposition's scoring chances. Matt Ward layed down the law dropping kids left and right while Niel Walski snapped off a hat trick, leaving LMU with a long boring ride back to Los Angeles. Our tender Teddy Florence did not dissapoint in his Vandal debut, doing his job, and doing it well. Nick Arnold passed the puck (it's true) which led to a one timer goal by Ryan Frey as well. All in all the Vandals had a good weekend and will have the next weekend off.

The Vandals next game is @ Portland State on 10/10 and 10/11.
